Agartala, Tripura | December 5, 2025:
Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Friday emphasized the need to promote industrial development in Tripura by leveraging locally available raw materials and adopting innovative approaches.

Addressing a review meeting of the Tripura Small Industries Corporation (TSIC) held at the Secretariat Conference Hall, Dr. Saha stated that forest produce, pineapples, tea, rubber, and other natural resources available in the state must be optimally utilized to generate sustainable economic growth.
Highlighting the importance of ecological responsibility, the Chief Minister stressed prioritizing the production of environment-friendly and biodegradable products in view of the current environmental challenges.
Dr. Saha further announced that an auction centre would be established to facilitate the export of surplus pineapple produce to markets outside the state. He also proposed the organization of a Pineapple Festival to promote the state’s produce and encouraged TSIC officials to take proactive steps toward setting up a matchmaking unit and aSpice-Making Industries. in Tripura.
During the meeting, Industriesa Spice-Making and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma and TSIC Chairman and MLA Shambhu Lal Chakma briefed the Chief Minister on the corporation’s ongoing initiatives and future plans.
Industries and Commerce Secretary Kiran Gitte, Chief Minister’s Secretary Dr. P.K. Chakraborty, Finance Secretary Apurba Roy, the Managing Director of TSIC, and other senior officials were also present at the meeting.
