Agartala, December 25, 2025:
Tripura’s former Chief Minister and BJP MP Biplab Kumar Deb on Wednesday expressed concern over the growing influence of fundamentalist groups in Bangladesh, stating that it is pushing the country towards instability and threatening its very existence.

Commenting on reports of violence against minority communities, Deb said the law and order situation in Bangladesh has deteriorated in recent times. He referred to incidents reported after the death of Usman Bin Hadi, alleging that attacks on minority Hindus, including arson and killings, have taken place in different parts of the country.

According to the MP, extremist ideologies have weakened the sense of humanity among certain groups, leading to acts that undermine social harmony. He further claimed that such violence is having a negative impact on Bangladesh’s economy, which he said is worsening steadily.

Deb alleged that some groups believe targeting minority Hindus would help secure their own existence. However, he warned that such actions would ultimately harm the country’s future.

“Attacks on minorities will not protect anyone’s existence,” the MP said, adding that those involved in such acts should not expect to be spared.
